Application For Granting Affiliate/associate Status

National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) play a critical role in monitoring the implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child in their respective States. Considering the role NHRIs play in the implementation of the mandates of the Committee including the State Reporting, Communication, and Investigation procedures, the Committee decided to grant Affiliate Status to NHRIs. The Committee adopted Guidelines for Granting Affiliate Status to NHRIs. The Guidelines provide for the criteria for the granting of the affiliate Status and the various avenues of collaboration for NHRIs with the Committee once affiliate status if granted.
